Puzzle plant
Here is a puzzle to solve. There is no trickery involved in the solution to this puzzle, and it is based on a real-life scenario. You are out in the garden and you want to remove a shrub. Its trunk is between 1 to 2 centimetres thick, and it has branches spanning out about a metre or so from the trunk. The soil is fairly typical and the roots of the shrub are well anchored. You do not care if the roots are removed or not. You have no tools and nothing else to help you. It is just you and the shrub. You try to break the shrub by pulling it upwards but you do not have the strength to break it off. You try bending it from side to side but that does not work either. How can you easily get the shrub out of the garden?
