UK News: 10th of April 2003:
The food industry is presented with a unique way to benefit from innovation: Acro Logic launches its
Online Programme for Food Innovation.
At the online launch, Dr Bostock pointed out that while significant parts of the industry clearly recognise the important role and the major benefits of innovation, few of its staff have received formal training in innovation. He went on to say that "although almost everyone has heard of innovation and recognises its importance, few really understand the innovation process and often mistakenly think that it is identical to creativity".
Dr Bostock also added that "innovation can benefit the
food industry
in many ways by improving business efficiencies, competitive advantages, manufacturing processes, and customer communications. It also brings exciting new products into the marketplace!". There are, of course, additional factors driving innovation in the
food industry,
such as health and diet, modern farming techniques, and the use of genetically modified crops.
A good innovation strategy provides the only effective method for developing outstanding and unique competitive advantages, while also minimising the potential risks of inappropriate creativity. New products in this marketplace need to offer the consumer real benefits, add variety and respect their concerns. The Online Programme for Food Innovation can help the food industry to achieve this.
